A few days ago I shared a post about the wonderful, late Doris Stokes — a medium whose work set me on my own path all those years ago, and whose husband I was fortunate enough to know well in the last part of his life. I was also close to her manager, the late Laurie O’Leary, who I knew and worked alongside on several occasions, and who went on to manage another remarkable medium, Doris Collins. Knowing both of them gave me a rare, personal window into Doris Stokes’s world long after she had passed into spirit.
Back in my early twenties, I stumbled across an old LP in a charity shop — a recording of Doris herself speaking. I treasured that album, and I’m fairly sure it’s still tucked away somewhere in a box of keepsakes I really must dig out one day. In the meantime, I found the same recording online and wanted to share it here, for anyone who has never had the chance to hear Doris’s voice. There is a real authenticity and kindness in the way she speaks, alongside some genuinely wonderful information she shares along the way. It means a great deal to me that, all these years later, her legacy still carries such weight and continues to touch so many of us. I hope you enjoy it.
