Angels or Star Beings? Rethinking an Old Question

Angels or Star Beings? Rethinking an Old Question
Tony Stockwell explores whether angels and star beings are two names for the same phenomenon, inviting open-minded reflection on experience, source, and language.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about angels. Not just the soft, gentle image we usually picture — wings, robes, a halo of light — but something a bit bigger than that. What if some of what history has called “angels” were actually visitors from somewhere else entirely? What if angels and star beings, or ETs as we now call them, are actually two names for the same thing?

It’s a big question. But I don’t think it’s a silly one.

Messengers Through the Ages

Go back through history and you’ll find the same story again and again, just told in different words. People describe beings of light appearing to them. Beings who bring messages. Beings who seem to come from somewhere beyond this world, who take on a human-like form so we can understand them and relate to them. We call them angels in one culture and star beings in another. But strip away the language, and the pattern looks very similar.

Maybe these beings really are angels, exactly as we’ve always imagined. Or maybe they’re something else — intelligent, soulful life from elsewhere in the galaxy, showing up as “message bringers” because that’s the form we can cope with seeing. Beings trying to help seed our growth, guide our thinking, and nudge us forward as a species.

Where do they actually come from? Maybe another dimension. Maybe another world entirely. Maybe they slip into our world through something like a wormhole, or a black hole, or some other kind of doorway we don’t fully understand yet. Honestly, I don’t think we know. And that’s alright.

Does It Really Matter What We Call Them?

Here’s the question I keep coming back to: does it actually matter what label we put on these beings? Call them angels. Call them star beings. Call them ETs. Maybe the label is just how each generation makes sense of something that’s always been happening. What matters more, I think, is that we stay open to the experience itself.

This connects straight back to modern mediumship. So many sensitives today are having real, tangible experiences of contact — with spirit, with guides, and yes, sometimes with beings that feel like they come from beyond this world altogether. History asked, “are these angels?” Today we’re asking the same question in new language. I think it’s worth us paying proper attention to what people are actually sensing, rather than getting stuck arguing over the name.

A Craft in the Sky

I’ll tell you why this subject means so much to me. When I was around ten years old, back in 1980, I saw a very large craft in the sky. I’ve never forgotten it. And here’s the strange part — that same year, not far from where I grew up, some of the most famous UFO sightings in British history took place at Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, only thirty or forty miles from my childhood home. People still talk about Rendlesham to this day. I can’t prove any connection between what I saw and what happened there. But it planted something in me — a lifelong fascination with star beings that has never really left.

Ancient Puzzles We Still Can’t Explain

Once you start asking these questions, you start looking differently at some of our oldest mysteries. Take the Great Pyramids of Giza. Around them, at that same point in history, most buildings were still fairly basic and primitive. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, these vast, precise, golden-capped pyramids appear. Were they built with a little outside help? It’s a fair question. The same goes for other ancient structures around the world, built thousands of years ago, that still don’t fully make sense to modern engineers. And closer to home, we’ve got the crop circles that have appeared across the south of England — intricate, precise patterns turning up overnight in fields. What actually made those?

Digging Within for Our Own Answer

I don’t have neat answers to any of this. I’m not sure anyone does. But I think these are questions worth sitting with, not brushing aside. Are angels simply star beings, dressed in language we could understand at the time? Have intelligent, soulful beings from elsewhere in the galaxy been quietly guiding our development all along? I honestly believe the answer is going to be different for each of us, and that’s fine. What I’d encourage is this: don’t take somebody else’s answer as your own. Dig deep within yourself, sit with the questions, and see what feels true to you. Sometimes the answer that feels right in your own heart is worth more than any proof.
