What’s Your Superpower?

Sep 9, 2026 | Tony's Blog

What’s Your Superpower?
Tony Stockwell invites readers to consider their hidden gifts, exploring the breadth of psychic and spiritual work and the personal effort required to develop true superpowers.

Over the years, in workshops and courses all over the world, I’ve met so many people with unique, specialised talents. And yet, so often, they don’t fully realise it themselves. They come along to basic mediumship training, or a psychic awareness class, learn the foundations, and then… stop there. They don’t always realise just how much more is available to them.

There’s psychic detective work. There’s spiritual healing, and there’s trance healing too. There’s flower reading, and psychometry. There’s channelling, and there’s teaching itself, which is very much its own gift. So many wonderful modalities, and yet I sometimes wonder if, as a wider community, we’ve almost forgotten how many of them there are.

Think of those who went before us. The great mediums of the church platform didn’t just stand up and give messages. They demonstrated trance mediumship, right there in front of a congregation. They gave flower readings, holding a bloom and letting it open up a connection. They read objects through psychometry, sensing the story held in a ring or a watch. They showed people the full range of what was possible. I don’t think we see that same breadth today, and it’s worth asking why.

So here’s the question I want you to sit with: what is your superpower?

Are you someone who’s drawn to creating balance in the people you serve? Someone whose gift is to bring calm and equilibrium to a life that’s been thrown off course? Or are you here to deliver strong, unmistakable evidence, the kind of information that heals because it proves, beyond doubt, that we carry on?

Maybe you’re someone who can commune with soul beings that dwell far from this earth, and who can find the words to channel what they bring with real impact. Maybe your path leads toward teaching, toward becoming a guide for others in mediumship and psychic work, and bringing insight, understanding and wisdom to a world that badly needs it.

And here’s a thought that keeps coming back to me. So many of us look up at the stars now and wonder about the angels we’ve heard about throughout history. Were they, in fact, star friends? Advanced soul beings who travelled to the earth to make a real, powerful, positive difference? I don’t offer that as an answer, only as a question worth holding.

Whatever your gift turns out to be, I want you to see yourself as multidimensional. See yourself as multi-gifted. Your development is down to you. So many people wait, thinking that if they simply begin, the universe will somehow conspire to carry them the rest of the way. There’s a degree of truth in that. But it still takes effort, time, tenacity and commitment for your gifts to unfold, gently, in their own time.

My old tutor, Joan Barham, used to look at me and say, “Tony, slow and steady.” She meant: take it easy, there’s no rush, be steady in your development. Because with every leap forward, we need time to recognise that a real shift has happened. We need to be comfortable holding a kind of power that goes far beyond riches.

So I’ll ask you again, because I think it deserves asking twice: what is your superpower?
